Pretty Much Done

Here are some pics of the house I took after our walkthrough this afternoon. The blue tags in the the pictures are touch up spots that need to be corrected. We will probably go out again this weekend and I will take some pictures of the upstairs. Enjoy!

We are scheduled to close next Friday. We are super excited to have this ordeal coming to an end. We can't wait to have guest so you need to be booking your reservations now. Take care and UK sucks.

New Blog on the Links

Hey all! I added a new entree to the menu on the right and I had to cut the blue plate special, Why you ask? Well, the blue plate special just wasn't special anymore. Just wanted to let you know a buddy of mine has started a blog all about Kentucky basketball. He will cover every level of basketball...all levels that matter, anyway. Check him out if have the time. I am sure he will appreciate it. Thanks.

The Sun Shines Bright On Our Baybriar Home

Stoked! Yeah, I was just kidding about the house being white, but I think you knew that already. This is pretty much what the finished product will look like from the opposite curb. The front door isn't stained nor are the hand rails/brick pedestals for the front steps installed, yet. You can see Truckenstein in the right side of the picture. NO, the yellow port-o-potty isn't the guest bathroom (unless John T. is asking)!

Here is the staircase, duh. You'd think I was talking to aliens. We have had an ordeal in getting the proper spindles for the stair rails. They had painted white spindles installed. We had selected stained spindles to match the handrail. We had to send them numerous emails before they finally came across with the goods. "It's like trying to play cards with my brother's kids!" (Who said that for 10 points?)

Another angle here on the right of the stairs as they near the second floor. Once again, like I needed to explain that to you. I don't mean to treat you guys like 4-year olds. Just not sure as what to say. But, knowing the ding dongs that read my crap, maybe I need to spell it out. Just kidding!

Here is Beth posing (Again. I don't know why she won't ever take a picture of me.) in front of the mantle. It hasn't been stained, yet. Seems to be a common theme, huh? It will be a dark walnut, like the stairs and the front doors. This view is from the kitchen. Here is a view of the master bathroom from the closet. His and her vanities. $10 bucks says it is really hers and her vanities. Small price to pay, but brushing teeth in the toilet is where I draw the line!

You Asked Again...

Hey guys here are a few pics of the house construction. It is really moving along. But, we are excited, especially now that the house in Lexington has sold. Enjoy the pics!

Here you can see the brick has been finished. No, for the fifth time, it is not going to have a white front. The paint won't be finished until a couple of weeks before the closing date, which is February 25th.
The cabinets have been installed throughout the house. All of the cabinets in the kitchen, butler's pantry, and the guest bathroom are sundance maple with a chocolate stain.

This picture is the left side of the kitchen. You can see the granite hasn't been installed. The cut-out on the left is for the dishwasher and the cut-out on the right uppers is for hood over the cooktop range.

And here is the right side of the kitchen. The cut-out under the upper cabinet is obviously for the refrigerator and the cut out insert is for the oven/microwave stack.

Here are the cabinets in the butler's pantry (area between the kitchen and the formal dining room. Note the wine rack...who drinks wine, anyways? Beth reminds me it's for looks because we all know it makes her sneeze!

Here is the mission style mantle. It will be finished with a dark walnut stain and a stone-tiled inset and rise.

This is the garden tub in the master batchroom. The cabinets here are an espresso stain.

Here is Beth on deck 1. This deck is a courtyard between the living room and the family room and the door goes into the hall across from the formal dining room.

This is Beth again on deck 2 from the family room/breakfast nook on the back of the house. Beth loves hanging out on decks, as you can see!
Well, I hope you enjoyed the pics. There were more, but it was taking forever for uploading and arranging them.
What about Jodie Meeks the other night? It was awesome seeing UK basketball history being made, even though it kept me up an hour and a half past my normal bedtime. In the words of one of my friends at work talking about Meeks, "I seen dat cat. He went smoove off!"
Catch you all later!

Progress...

They have most of the hardy board/fiber cement and shingle on the sides of the house. No, it's not going to be that color. They paint it after the hardy board/shingle has been hung. We went on a walkthrough of it this weekend. It's pretty exciting!

Here is the start of the covered deck on the back of the house. Can you say "grillin' and cold beerin' "? I knew you could.
Another angle of the front.
The boss at the front door.

Raise Da Roof, Y'all!

They have finally shingled the roof and are putting in the windows. We plan on going inside this weekend...if we can wait that long.
