All I know is...

Ats right!

Wow, these past two weeks have flown by and I bet their arms are tired. So much to say here. I made it through the meet and greet with Beth's and my parents and siblings. We really had a great time. If you weren't there, and you know who you are, the menu was fantastic. I grilled barbecue chicken and a beer can chicken. Also, supporting the entrees were fresh green beans purchased at the farmer's market on Vine and baked beans prepared with the secret recipe. Silver Queen corn on the cob and pasta salad also guested the event. Ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins was for dessert. I hate to call a brother out (and I do mean my brother), but DANG YO! I definitely faked the funk on that nasty dunk!

As far as the meet and greet went, everyone was very excited and happy in the introduction. This made the day far easier for Beth and myself. Conversation flowed. We even broke out into a corn hole exposition. Really good times.

This weekend, I am off to Belterra Casino in Nowheresville, Indiana. By buddy Brandon will be celebrating his 30th birthday at the riverboat. I can honestly say I am really looking forward to it. It will feel awesome to get away, even if it is for just a night. I will have to gamble conservatively, still got to save some money before the wedding. We finally settled on St. Lucia for our honeymoon, so being in the middle of the Caribbean makes it not so cheap. Hit up this link to see some pics of the locale. http://www.caribbean.com/jsp/maps.jsp?currentDestination=27 Once you have reached this site, click on Pigeon Island in NW St. Lucia. You will see a panoramic view rotating. The little strip of land connecting the two larger land masses is where we will be staying. You can see the blue roofs of the buildings. Check it out! I am soooo stoked! (Like the use of "stoked"? I only use it and "wicked" once a year.)

I have found my new bad habit. It is an arcade horse racing game at Buffalo Wild Wings. It is a little on the expensive side--$2 a race, but it is in the top ten of fun games. You can create a horse by selecting a dam and a sire, name it, train it and race it. So far, for the past three weeks, I have been depositing around $20 a week. XBOX is supposed to have a similar game coming out this fall. I can't wait.

I must go for now. I will let you know if I sink the boat! Sayonara sucka!

  • Must be nice to be able to spend $20 a week on something other than food. And you know that I would have been there if I didn't have work that weekend.

Here's some more bad news... probably not gonna make it to the reunion thing either. I wish somebody would call me before they schedule something.

At least you took me into consideration when setting the wedding date and for that I'm forever indebted to you.

  • Yes, you will forever be my indentured servant. I knew you couldn't make it. I was just rubbing it in all the great food you missed out on! That sucks about the reunion. Mom said they might just spend the night in Lex that Saturday so they can hang out with you guys. Maybe we can do something over at our house? Cornhole is always fun! About the $20 a week, as soon as NTRA Breeder's Cup 2005 comes out for XBOX in OCT, I will give up the game at BW3's. Until then, it's "Go, Baby! Go!"

  • Too true! Sorry I forgot to give you props for the said side item. They were, as you say,"spectacular". I know I enjoyed them right down to the last bacon bit!
